Trade Time
Going back
to the old belief of the human kind is naturally greedy and self-interested we
can see what the United States intentions are when we look at the trade deals.
The United States has been dominant on the world stage when it comes to trade
and influence.
The United States
plays a role in the world when it comes to trade because it is in their
interest since it would bolster its stance in the world on many aspects. The
trade that goes on with many of the other countries is carried out with the
thought that the United States will gain more from doing this business than
not. This statement might seem obvious but there are times where the United
States can be seen to be ‘losing’ trade with another country. This is not the
case though since it is in the United States interest to have these countries
included with the trade since they will get more out of the country in the long
run and they are within the United States sphere of influence and they are more
inclined to work with them on multiple other cases now.
The outlook on the
world from the United States perspective is that it’s a source of resources.
This means that every other country can be utilized for their own benefit. This
might seem morbid but in many cases, we can see that the United States will do
business or aid with countries that are willing to go along with the United
States mission. The ‘freer’ countries are made by the United States the more
they are doing business with the western countries and this is the overall
interest.
It would be ignorant to say that the United States is only
out to make the rest of the world better since its interest will always be
itself and what it can get from its actions. Creating a free market for the
United States to be at the top is always the goal, even for other countries
they wish to be at the top of the economic stage. Making a more prosperous
world can be taken multiple different ways since people value different things
at another level someone else might value as the most valued thing. The more prosperous
the world is allowing for a larger market for the United States to utilize and
grow even more and from this growth, we can bring more parts of the world up
along with us. This does not mean bring third world countries up into the first
along with the United States, but it means that the countries that we support
and support us are going to be a part of the growth when it happens and will
prosper because of it.
All in all, the United States is self-interested when it
comes to trade and it should not be looked at in any other perspective. Trade
with lower countries will only help in the long run for the United States,
which is what their goal is. When the world moves up so does the United States
and this can be seen through ‘losing’ trade deals which prosper into better
relations.
